You could not run a 6 puck disc against the aluminum pressure plate casting or even carbon fiber inserts in the casting. 50% of what this clutch offers is the lightweight disc.... Shaving very small amounts of weight off of the disc drastically increase the transmissions ability to shift quickly. The weight of this disc is almost half of a street disc. The inertia of a quarter pound of disc weight at 7000 rpm plus is insane. The transmission was designed to granny shift at a max of 7000 RPM. Less weight on the disc allows the trans to slow down drastically faster and allows faster shifting as well as less wear on the syncro's.
